Supervisory Air Traffic Assistant (Supervisory Flight Data Communications Specialist)

Serves as Supervisor of the Flight Data Communications Specialists. Accomplishes tasks assigned to the organization directly through supervision of subordinate employees. Personally directs the work of the employees assigned to the organization. Assigns work, sets priorities, and provides technical assistance to subordinate employees. Participates directly with the management team of the facility with full responsibility for Flight Data and Communications Operations which includes:
flight data processing; Homeland Security Data Network (HSDN) computers and communications circuits; flight plan entries into the EnRoute National Airspace System (NAS) ERAM system; and monitoring of the Aeronautical Information System Replacement (AISR) for all incoming traffic. Provides communications and air traffic control data services for the Seattle ARTCC (Level 10), other FAA facilities and all military aviation operations in the Seattle ARTCC.Serves as COMSEC (Communications Security) Manager, which is responsible for managing and controlling accountable COMSEC material in the COMSEC Material Control System (CMCS) charged to this activity. Responsibilities include receipt, storage, amendment, accountability, inventory, and issuance of COMSEC material, and destruction or transfer of material when no longer required. Ensures that appropriate COMSEC material is readily available to authorized users whose duties require its use. Ensure that all persons requiring access to U.S. classified cryptographic information receive an appropriate cryptographic access (CA) briefing and sign a CA certificate before they are permitted access. Advises users and supervisors of required protection requirements and proper procedures for handling COMSEC material, including authorized procedures for destruction or disposition of material when no longer required. Reports COMSEC security irregularities/violations in accordance with applicable directives.Serves as a Classified Information Security Manager (CISM), which serves as the principle advisor and representative to management in matters about classifying, declassifying, downgrading, and safeguarding classified information; limits access to classified information to cleared people with a need-to-know; keeps a list of personnel within the organization who have access to classified information. Develops and documents the organization's control measures to safeguard classified information and to limit access to classified information to authorized personnel. Develops and keeps certification and accreditation documents for National Security Systems used by their organization; coordinates with the organization's managers on security measures for classifying and safeguarding classified information; coordinates information security awareness and education within their organization; in coordination with records management officials, continually reduces classified holdings as appropriate by declassifying, destroying, or retiring unneeded records. Candidates must have at least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade or pay band (FV-F/G or GS 9-11) that demonstrates knowledge of and skill in the use of FAA air traffic control procedures.Qualified specialized experience may have been gained in work such as:
(1) Civilian or military aircraft operations work, such as flight instructor, instrument rated pilot, flight engineer, or air transport pilot; (2) FAA certified dispatcher for an air carrier; (3) Flight information expediter involved in determining flight times of airplanes and transmitting information to flight operations and command centers; (4) Civilian or military air traffic controller; (5) Flight data processor; (OR) Successful completion of an FAA or military air traffic control training program; (OR) Possession of an FAA Control Tower Operator certificate.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
