Human Resources Assistant

As a Human Resources Assistant, your duties will include:
Conducting new hire orientation. Prepares new hire packages and provides to employees. During orientation, ensures employee information is complete and accurate; provides ethics handout; and ensures viewing of ethics video; swears in and fingerprints employees, etc. Coordinating applications for personnel security background investigations with GSA Personnel Security Division and with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). Ensuring applications include required data. Monitor and track the progress of the applicant's application. Receiving notification of fingerprint clearance and certification of background investigation. Updating USAccess or GSA Credential and Identity Management System (GCIMS) to reflect active and inactive employees. When initial security clearance is granted, changing employees status in USAccess or GCIMS to active so the Identity, Credential and Access Management (ICAM) Division can produce the official credentials. When employee separates from agency, changing employee's status in USAccess or GCIMS to inactive. Providing basic HR guidance to customers on benefits, with-in-grade increases, and leave information. Assisting HR Specialists in finalizing recruit actions, as needed. Coding Personnel Action Requests (PARs) and routing to the Processing and Personnel Records Management Center (PPRM) for processing. Working independently in researching, compiling and completing special assignments, projects and/or reports in support of higher grade specialists. Providing information and appropriate forms for inquiries related to a variety of human resources activities and operations. Referring more complex policy and procedural questions to higher grade specialists or subordinate supervisors, as needed. For each job on your resume, provide:

The GS-7 salary range starts at $45,823 per year.If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. A. To qualify, you must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal Service. Specialized experience must have been gained in an administrative support or Human Resources support position and involved experience in two or more of the following areas:
coding and processing personnel actions, reviewing employment forms/documents for accuracy, providing orientation to new employees, and interpreting HR regulations and policies to provide guidance to customers regarding routine human resources program topics such as benefits. OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - Possess a combination of graduate level education beyond the Bachelor's Degree and appropriate specialized experience that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
