Under general supervision, provides customer services at the gas station / convenience store, including but not limited to cashiering, sales assistance, and stocking.
1. Greets customers, monitors cash sales at gas pump visually (in person or on TV monitor), scans items for sale, and collects payment. Works with and understands procedures related to cash, checks, travelers' checks, credit and debit cards, food stamps, and tax-exempt situations.
2. Cash management, including cash register balancing before and after shift and making deposits.
3. Is familiar with and utilizes knowledge of acceptable forms of identification and rules for the sale of alcohol, tobacco and lottery items. Assists customers with online lotto sales and self-serve beverage making when needed
4. Calls for assistance when more than two people are in line and all gas pumps are busy. Identifies when help is needed at gas pumps by using intercoms or visual in-person or TV monitoring.
5. Identifies suspicious customers handles according to established procedures. Is trained in and understands how to react in case of robbery or theft.
6. Handles customer complaints when appropriate or elevates to manager level.
7. Monitors dirty and wet floors, vacuums carpet, displays appropriate safety signs when necessary.
8. Maintains coffee machines, hot food bar, and food counter areas.
9. Stocks supplies and merchandise as necessary, including counting and stocking cigarettes.
10. Works shifts as needed, including nights and weekends.
One (1) year sales clerk experience
Money handling / counting, Customer relations, Strong communication, Interpersonal relations, General cleaning skills, Multi-tasking, Working in a fast-paced environment. Must also be able to regularly use Regal touch screen cash registers, Lotto machine, Fax machine, Espresso maker, calculator, and food stamp machine.

The employee is frequently required to talk, hear, and operate a motor vehicle. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend at the waist, twist, crouch, kneel, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to grasp, finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, and use foot controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to non-weather related hot and/or cold temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions, and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, dusts, odors, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can occasionally be loud.
Current and valid Washington state driver's license. Valid and current food handler's permit. Liquor board training class certification desired.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
