Gerdau is seeking a Rebar Estimator for its rebar fabrication facility in Auburn, WA.
Responsibilities:
Prepares quantity and material take-off from customer plans, specifications, instructions and other available data to determine quote information. Ascertain any unique aspects of the project; study specifications to determine code application and any unusual steel requirements, seek technical assistance as necessary on more complex work. Consult with sales, contractor, architect, engineer or customer as necessary to ensure complete understanding of requirements. Break job down into appropriate workable components; visualize standard details not covered by data furnished.
Accurate and timely estimates; review and recommendation of projects; maintaining open and cordial communications with the architects and engineers; informing the sales department of unique characteristics for proper pricing; complying with Company policy and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil / Structural / Industrial Engineering or a related field plus two years in an Estimator, Detailer or similar role in the construction, metals industry or a related industry. A two-year industry-related degree in drafting or engineering with substantial relevant experience will also be considered.
Knowledge and interpretation of construction drawings.
MS - Office proficiency; aSa knowledge preferred.
Self-motivated, team player, outgoing and well-organized.
