Under general supervision, manages the business activities of the Muckleshoot Tribal School
1. Assists in budget preparation; maintains and assures budget control relating to anticipated income and proposed expenditures
2. Maintains records for a variety of funding sources; develops and maintains a database system for funding sources.
3. Develop improvements to budget and accounting systems
4. Advises management on fiscal matters; acts as liaison with Tribal Finance Department.
5. Develops and maintains a procurement system for the Tribal School.
6. Develops specifications for supplies and materials; establishes inventory procedures for expendable supplies.
7. Establishes a bid system for all vendors; meets with salespersons and vendors
8. Develop and recommend appropriate policies and procedures.
Graduation from a four (4) year college or university with a degree in business/public administration, accounting or a closely related field is preferred. A combination of education and experience, in which experience substitutes on a year for year basis for education is acceptable. In addition, two years of experience in governmental budgeting, finance or fund accounting is required.
Knowledge of: ? Principles and practices of governmental accounting, budget, finance and fiscal reporting. ? Principles and practices of school accounting, budget, finance and fiscal reporting. ? Accounting and fiscal analysis techniques. ? Audit standards and fiscal controls. ? Theory and practice of modern school business management. ? Governmental purchasing, stores, inventory, contract administration. Skill in: ? Oral and written communication. ? Planning, directing and establishing priorities and coordinating a variety of fiscal operations. ? Interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations and policies related to financial matters. ? Maintaining effective working relationships with others. ? Developing new work methods and procedures. ? Assemble and analyze data and make appropriate recommendations for fiscal and budget actions.
A valid Washington State driver's license is required at the time of appointment or at a time set by the Tribe.
